About the Role:
USA Winzons is actively recruiting an experienced Chief Engineer to join our global container vessel and tanker operations. You will be responsible for leading the engine room team, maintaining all machinery to the highest safety and performance standards, and ensuring full compliance with international maritime regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee operation and maintenance of propulsion systems, auxiliary engines, boilers, and fuel systems
- Lead the engine department team, ensuring safety, performance, and professional conduct
- Monitor fuel and lubricants consumption and maintain daily engine room logs
- Execute planned maintenance schedules (PMS) and troubleshoot technical failures promptly
- Ensure compliance with MARPOL, SOLAS, ISM Code, and other relevant maritime standards
- Coordinate with the Master and shore-based technical team for reporting and operational support
- Manage engine room inventories, spare parts, and requisitions
Requirements:
- Valid Certificate of Competency (COC) – Chief Engineer (Class I, Unlimited)
- Minimum 3 years of recent sailing experience as Chief Engineer on container ships or tankers
- Solid understanding of 2-stroke/4-stroke marine engines, electronic engine control systems, and auxiliary equipment
- Excellent knowledge of international maritime regulations, safety protocols, and engine room operations
- Strong leadership, communication, and crisis-management skills
- Valid STCW certifications, medical certificate, and passport
- Proficient in English (spoken and written)
Preferred:
- Experience with ME-C engines or LNG fuel systems
- Dry Dock / Shipyard exposure for vessel upgrades or repair
- Familiarity with PMS software (e.g., AMOS, Sertica, TM Master)
