About the position
The Power Utilization Engineer (CR) B position involves providing technical services and engineering consulting to promote the efficient use of electrical energy and electric-based technologies. The role focuses on various applications including power quality, HVAC, lighting, and environmental services, while generating revenue for TVA through consulting services. The engineer will work closely with TVA staff and power distributors to identify energy service opportunities and assist customers with technical advice and project proposals.
Responsibilities
• Serve as an engineer responsible for the sales, promotion, and delivery of technical services and engineering consulting.

• Generate revenue by delivering routine technical and engineering consulting services to TVA distributors and their customers.

• Develop and deliver products and services to promote the value and efficient use of electricity and electro-based technologies.

• Evaluate customer needs, generate cost estimates, and perform or direct services to meet national, state, and local codes.
,
• Work with TVA staff and power distributor personnel to implement energy services and marketing projects.
,
• Provide advice on rates, rate structures, and billing to power distributors and their customers.
,
• Develop project proposals, present them to customers, and follow projects to closure.

• Act as a liaison between TVA, power distributors, and their commercial and industrial customers.

• Perform electrical/mechanical engineering and programmatic functions related to commercial and industrial applications of electrical power.
Requirements
• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Civil, Industrial, Agriculture, Environmental Engineering or comparable discipline from an accredited university.

• 5 or more years of experience at a power utility company or industrial plant.

• Firm understanding of meter testing, electrical system troubleshooting, and power quality analysis.

• Familiarity with the National Electric Safety Code (NESC).

• Good written and verbal communication skills for presenting reports and recommendations.

• Demonstrated proficiency in Power Utilization Engineering.
Nice-to-haves
• Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.

• Licensed professional engineer (PE) license.
