Job Details

The Director of Government Affairs leads public policy and advocacy efforts, ensuring regulatory developments align with the organization’s mission to provide high-quality, affordable medications. This role develops legislative strategies, builds relationships with government entities, and drives initiatives that strengthen the organization’s influence in healthcare policy.

MUST SIT ON A STATE BOARD OF PHARMACY

Key Responsibilities:
• Develop and implement government relations strategies to influence healthcare policies at federal, state, and local levels.
• Monitor, analyze, and respond to legislative and regulatory developments affecting operations and industry positioning.
• Build and maintain relationships with policymakers, regulatory agencies, and industry leaders to advocate for key priorities.
• Prepare policy briefs, position papers, and expert testimony to support legislative initiatives and regulatory compliance.
• Lead public policy initiatives, manage external advocacy teams, and coordinate grassroots engagement efforts to drive impactful outcomes.

Skills & Qualifications:
• Experience: Minimum 7 years in public policy, legislative advocacy, or government relations, preferably in the pharmaceutical or healthcare industry. Experience with the National Association of Boards of Pharmacy and FDA regulations is REQUIRED.
• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Political Science, Public Policy, Healthcare Administration, or a related field (Master’s degree or JD preferred).
• Expertise: Strong knowledge of federal and state legislative processes, regulatory compliance, and healthcare policy.
• Technology: Proficiency in Microsoft Office and experience leveraging AI-driven tools for research, strategy, and workflow optimization.
• Leadership & Communication: Proven ability to lead teams, build partnerships, and effectively communicate complex policy issues to stakeholders.
