Responsibilities:
– Communicate with the clients to discuss website design and function
– Design and build the front end of the website
– Build the website architecture
– Design and deploy website back-end, including database and server integration
– Create WordPress themes and plugins
– Run website performance tests and troubleshoot issues
– Monitor the live website performance
Requirements:
– Bachelor’s/Master’s Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, IT, or a relevant field
– 3+ years of demonstrable experience as a WordPress developer (rare exceptions for super-efficient devs)
– In-depth knowledge of programming and front-end technologies, like HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, and jQuery
– Expertise in front-end frameworks, like Bootstrap or Foundation
– Knowledge of at least one programming language, from PHP, ASP.NET, Ruby, etc.
– Understanding of code versioning tools, including Git, Mercurial, SVN
– Sound understanding of website architecture, aesthetics, and SEO perspectives
– Familiarity with network diagnostics and network analytics tools
– Fluency in English to collaborate with engineering managers
– Work full-time (40 hours/week) with a 4-hour overlap with US time zones
Preferred skills:
– Familiarity with object-oriented programming.
– Understanding of web app security, session management, and best methods
– Outstanding troubleshooting and communication skills
– The zeal for working in a fast-paced environment
– Effective time management and organizational skills
– Experience working with debugging tools such as Chrome Inspector and Firebug
– Experience in working throughout the Agile Scrum process
