We are seeking a visionary Director of Developer Community to join our team and lead the PyTorch Developer Community. As the Director, you will be responsible for creating and executing strategies to foster growth and engagement within the PyTorch community, driving the development of open-source machine learning technologies, and collaborating with developers and stakeholders globally. You will play a critical role in scaling the impact of PyTorch within the developer ecosystem.

• Community Strategy & Growth: Develop and implement a global strategy to grow the PyTorch developer community, ensuring it is inclusive, engaged, and vibrant.
• Leadership & Team Management: Lead and mentor a team of community managers, engineers, and content creators to support the growth and engagement of the community.
• Engagement Programs: Design and launch community-driven programs, initiatives, and events (e.g., hackathons, webinars, meetups) to enhance collaboration and knowledge sharing.
• Developer Advocacy: Act as a strong advocate for the PyTorch community, gathering feedback, understanding their needs, and ensuring the PyTorch ecosystem evolves to meet those needs.
• Partnerships & Collaboration: Work closely with internal teams (engineering, product, marketing) and external partners to ensure alignment and maximize the impact of community efforts.
• Content & Communication: Drive the creation of educational content, tutorials, blog posts, and videos to enhance the knowledge base within the community.
• Data-Driven Insights: Track, measure, and report on community growth, engagement, and satisfaction, using data to inform decisions and improve efforts.
• Advocacy at Events: Represent PyTorch at conferences, summits, and other industry events, building relationships with key influencers and thought leaders in the AI and machine learning space.
• Open-Source Contribution: Promote open-source collaboration and contributions to PyTorch, ensuring active involvement from developers and researchers in the ecosystem.

• Experience: 7+ years of experience in community management, developer advocacy, or a similar leadership role, with a strong focus on open-source or AI communities
• Expertise: Proven track record in growing and managing developer communities, particularly within the machine learning or AI space
• Skills:
  • Deep understanding of the PyTorch ecosystem and open-source development
  • Strong leadership skills with experience managing cross-functional teams
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Strong networking and relationship-building abilities, with a passion for engaging with developers
  • Experience with developer engagement platforms, forums, and tools
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to track and measure community success
• Passion for AI & Open Source: A genuine passion for machine learning, AI technologies, and the open-source ecosystem, particularly PyTorch
• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (Master’s or PhD preferred)
