USA WINZONS is seeking a highly skilled Clinical Documentation Improvement (CDI) Specialist to join our healthcare team in San Luis Obispo, CA. This full-time position involves reviewing and improving clinical documentation to ensure it is complete, accurate, and compliant with regulations. Key Responsibilities:
  • Review and analyze clinical documentation to ensure it accurately reflects the patient’s diagnoses and procedures
  • Collaborate with physicians, nursing staff, and other healthcare professionals to improve documentation practices
  • Provide education and feedback to clinical staff regarding documentation standards and guidelines
  • Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations, including coding and billing requirements
  • Identify areas for improvement in clinical documentation and collaborate with the medical staff to address them
  • Conduct regular audits and assessments of clinical documentation for accuracy
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest healthcare documentation and coding standards
Qualifications:
  • Certified Clinical Documentation Specialist (CCDS) or equivalent certification preferred
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in clinical documentation improvement or coding
  • Strong knowledge of medical terminology, ICD-10, and CPT coding systems
  • Experience working with electronic health records (EHR) systems
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Attention to detail and ability to identify discrepancies in clinical documentation
  • Ability to work independently and collaborate with healthcare professionals
