Key Responsibilities:
- Review and analyze clinical documentation to ensure it accurately reflects the patient’s diagnoses and procedures
- Collaborate with physicians, nursing staff, and other healthcare professionals to improve documentation practices
- Provide education and feedback to clinical staff regarding documentation standards and guidelines
- Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations, including coding and billing requirements
- Identify areas for improvement in clinical documentation and collaborate with the medical staff to address them
- Conduct regular audits and assessments of clinical documentation for accuracy
- Stay up-to-date with the latest healthcare documentation and coding standards
Qualifications:
- Certified Clinical Documentation Specialist (CCDS) or equivalent certification preferred
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in clinical documentation improvement or coding
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology, ICD-10, and CPT coding systems
- Experience working with electronic health records (EHR) systems
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
