We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Team Lead, Payroll Operations to oversee and streamline our payroll functions.

Position Overview:

The Team Lead, Payroll Operations will manage day-to-day payroll activities, ensuring accurate and timely payroll processing across the organization. You will lead a small team, drive continuous process improvements, and maintain compliance with federal, state, and local payroll regulations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Supervise payroll operations, ensuring all employees are paid accurately and on time.
  • Manage, mentor, and develop payroll team members.
  • Review and approve payroll reports and reconciliations.
  • Collaborate with HR, Finance, and Accounting teams to maintain accurate employee data.
  • Ensure payroll compliance with federal, state, and local laws and regulations.
  • Respond to employee inquiries related to payroll, deductions, taxes, and policies.
  • Manage relationships with third-party payroll providers and software vendors.
  • Identify and implement improvements to payroll processes, systems, and internal controls.
  • Prepare and submit reports for audits, tax filings, and internal reporting needs.
Qualifications:
  • 5+ years of payroll experience, with at least 1–2 years in a leadership or supervisory role.
  • Strong knowledge of U.S. payroll laws, tax regulations, and best practices.
  • Experience working with major payroll systems (e.g., ADP, Workday, Paycom, etc.).
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • High level of confidentiality, integrity, and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, remote environment.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field (preferred).
  • Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) certification is a plus.
