We are currently seeking a motivated Intern, GSOC to join our Global Security Operations Center (GSOC) team. About the Role:
As an Intern in GSOC, you will support the Global Security Operations Center team in monitoring, analyzing, and responding to security incidents across our organization. You will work alongside experienced security professionals, gaining exposure to a variety of security tools and practices used to protect our systems, networks, and data. This is an excellent opportunity for someone eager to learn about the inner workings of security operations while contributing to real-world projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Monitor security alerts and events across multiple systems and networks, identifying potential threats or vulnerabilities.
- Assist with incident detection, investigation, and response activities under the guidance of senior security team members.
- Review and analyze security logs and data from different sources to identify patterns of suspicious activity.
- Support the team with creating and updating security documentation, reports, and procedures.
- Participate in security drills, vulnerability assessments, and risk management tasks.
- Help with the development and improvement of security tools and technologies used within the GSOC.
- Collaborate with internal teams to ensure compliance with security policies and procedures.
- Assist in preparing reports on security incidents, trends, and recommendations for improvements.
- Contribute to ongoing security awareness initiatives, including monitoring security incidents and responses.
Qualifications:
- Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Cybersecurity, Information Security, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Basic understanding of network protocols, security technologies, and risk management principles.
- Familiarity with security tools, such as SIEM (Security Information and Event Management), intrusion detection systems, and firewall configurations.
- Strong interest in cybersecurity and security operations, with a desire to learn and grow in the field.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with attention to detail.
- Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Self-motivated and proactive, with a strong willingness to learn and contribute to the team.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a remote team.
- Prior experience in a security operations role or internship is a plus but not required.
