Outpatient Utilization Management Coordinator (Remote)
We are seeking an organized and detail-oriented Outpatient Utilization Management (UM) Coordinator to join our team. This remote position requires expertise in ICD-9/10, CPT coding, and medical terminology, along with exceptional multitasking and customer service skills.
Key Responsibilities:
Monitor the Right Fax Server to ensure timely processing of referrals.
Verify referral form completeness and obtain missing information.
Maintain accuracy standards for referral authorizations.
Professionally handle calls for the Utilization Management Department.
Collaborate with providers and UM Nurses on authorization matters.
Assist management and UM Nurses as needed.
Education & Experience:
Minimum 3 years as a data entry specialist or coordinator.
High school diploma or GED required.
Key Qualifications:
Proficiency in ICD-9/10 and CPT codes.
Experience in managed care or physician office settings.
Skilled in computer applications (word processing, databases, spreadsheets).
Strong customer service skills.
