Job Summary:
New England Medical Billing, a leading healthcare organization affiliated with University Surgical Associates, is seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Senior Coder to join our dynamic team. The Senior Coder will play a crucial role in ensuring accurate coding of medical records, collections, and billing processes in compliance with industry standards and regulations.

Responsibilities:
– Assign appropriate medical codes to diagnoses and procedures using ICD-9, ICD-10, and other coding systems.
– Review medical records to ensure documentation supports the codes assigned.
– Collaborate with healthcare providers to clarify documentation as needed for accurate coding.
– Conduct regular audits to maintain coding accuracy and compliance with regulatory requirements.
– Assist in resolving coding-related denials and appeals for medical claims.
– Stay updated on changes in coding guidelines and regulations to ensure compliance.
– Participate in training sessions to enhance coding skills and knowledge.

Experience:
– Minimum of 3 years of experience in medical coding.
– Proficiency in medical terminology and understanding of various coding systems.
– Strong knowledge of ICD-9, ICD-10, and other relevant coding methodologies.
– Experience working with electronic health record systems and medical billing software.
– Excellent attention to detail and analytical skills.
– Certification in medical coding (e.g., CPC) is required.
