Title: Data Entry Technician

Note: Remote role.
Job Description:
• Knowledge of databases and geographic information system (GIS) platforms.
• Work with Task Manager to input, update, delete, and review AMSCM data
• Work with Task Manager and other specialists (District/field office specialists) to translate digital/paper files into data for entry into AMSCM
• Support the data integrity of the program by providing Quality Assurance Quality Control (QA/QC) of inputted environmental data
• Work with Task Manager to document and improve the overall quality of AMSCM data
• Generate digital map products using AMSCM related data
• Assist with data sharing and data management activities
• Coordinate with the Task Manager for data management as follows:
• Review/input data to AMSCM, for approximately 41,000 sites* and 70,000 features*
• Re-evaluate and update approximately 50,000 features nationwide
• Check and verify approximately 130,000 feature records for accuracy
• Check and verify approximately 60,000 site records for accuracy
Qualifications:
• Experience in data entry and validation, preferably in an environmental or GIS context.
• Familiarity with Geographic Information System (GIS) platforms and database management.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to perform QA/QC on large datasets.
• Ability to work independently and manage tasks remotely with minimal supervision.
• Strong communication skills for coordinating with Task Managers and other field specialists.
• Willingness to travel up to six times per year for work-related meetings and tasks at BLM offices within the continental United States.
Requirements:
• High-speed internet access for remote data entry on web-based systems.
• Ability to work full-time, equating to approximately 1920 hours per year, including federal holidays.
• Compliance with all applicable requirements of the BLM and best management practices for environmental data entry and management.
