SUMMARY

AccuWeather is looking for a Closed Captioning Specialist I, who would be responsible for providing closed captioning for videos that air on the award-winning and national AccuWeather Television Network. Closed Captioning is a part of our 24/7 Network Operations.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Caption pre-recorded weather videos quickly and accurately
• Meets performance standards in both speed and accuracy
• Performs self-quality assurance on captions
• Maintains personal captioning logs and files
• Organize and manage network files
• Submit daily work logs
• Provide research assistance to the Executive Producer during times of severe weather
• Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Excellent typing skills with a WPM speed of 70 or greater
• Ability to focus for extended periods of time while captioning and monitoring videos
• Excellent communication skills and command of the English language
• Attention to detail and organization skills
• Ability to meet strict deadlines
• Flexibility with working varying shifts, including being available to potentially work weekends, early mornings, overnights and holidays, to ensure coverage for our 24/7 Network Operations
