Position Overview
As a crucial first point of contact, the Medical Intake/Data Entry Specialist will support the Utilization Review Department by collecting intake information, creating electronic patient files, and managing correspondence.
Key Responsibilities
Answer the Utilization Review line, directing calls to the appropriate team member, and manage voicemails by transferring messages to the appropriate nurse.
Collect and enter demographic information to create patient files.
Print, mail, fax, and copy correspondence as needed.
Perform other related tasks as assigned.

Qualifications
Education: High School Diploma or equivalent required. Coursework in computers, medical terminology, data entry, word processing, and secretarial training is a plus.
Skills: Proficiency in computer use, data entry, word processing, and handling multiple line telephone systems. Bilingual skills are a plus but not required.
Experience: At least one year of professional office experience, with experience in a healthcare setting preferred.
Personal Attributes: Friendly and helpful telephone demeanor, accurate data entry skills, strong organizational abilities, and a solid understanding of customer service principles.
Compensation: $16.00 – $16.50 per hour
