Quality Manager (Food Packaging Company)

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Quality Manager to join our client at a reputable food packaging company. As the Quality Manager, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safety, quality, and compliance of their food products. Your primary responsibility will be to oversee the development, implementation, and maintenance of robust food safety and quality management systems. The ideal candidate must hold a valid SQF Practitioner certification and have a strong background in food safety practices.

Responsibilities:

• SQF System Oversight: o Serve as the designated SQF Practitioner for the company.

o Ensure that the SQF system is effectively implemented, reviewed, and maintained.

o Take necessary actions to uphold the integrity of the SQF system.

• Quality Assurance and Compliance:

o Develop, implement, and maintain food safety and quality management systems.

o Prepare the company for SQF certification audits.

o Monitor compliance with regulatory requirements and customer specifications.

o Conduct internal audits and address any non-conformities promptly.

• Continuous Improvement:

o Identify areas for process improvement related to quality and safety.

o Collaborate with cross-functional teams to enhance product quality.

o Implement corrective and preventive actions as needed.

• Training and Education:

o Train employees on food safety practices, HACCP principles, and SQF requirements.

o Stay informed about industry trends and updates related to food safety.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Food Science or a related field.

• Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a USDA-inspected facility.

• Certified SQF Practitioner (mandatory).

• Strong knowledge of HACCP-based food safety plans.

• Familiarity with the SQF Food Safety Code: Food Manufacturing.
